Here is Steve Tanzer’s review:
“(60% vendange entier): Red with a pale rim. Highly aromatic, spicy nose melds redcurrant, cherry, smoke and leather, along with accents of dried flowers and orange zest. Not particularly deep but elegant in style, conveying an open, spicy, high-pH mouth feel but with enough sneaky acidity–not to mention energy from the high percentage of stems–to retain freshness. Finishes with substantial toothdusting tannins and very good spicy persistence.” 89-91 points.
The Burghound review:
“(60% whole clusters). An intensely floral nose with hints of spice and warm earth add considerable refinement to the ultra-pure red pinot fruit aromas. There is both a lovely mouth feel and detail to the middle weight flavors that culminate in a firm and moderately austere finish that displays solid if not perfect balance as there is a very mild touch of warmth. The austerity is enough that this will not be for everyone. 90/2018+”
This is sooo finessed for a Beaune 1er. A mi me gusta mucho.
