Description
This is Thorsten’s completely sulfurless dry Riesling, from steep old vine terraces in the Mullay-Hofberg. I didn’t get to taste it, but it seems that it is pretty damn legit based on both consumer and critical reviews. I’ve included the most recent review from Stephan Reinhardt of the Wine Advocate to give you an idea……
“”From the best plots of the Mullay-Hofberg and vinified in used barriques for 13 months, the unsulfured 2017 Riesling Trocken Vade Retro displays an intense and concentrated nose with ripe stone fruit aromas and notes of crushed stones. Medium to full-bodied, very intense, lush and elegant on the palate, this is a pretty complex but also fresh and finessed Riesling with a lean, crystalline and nicely crunchy finish with good grip and tension. Very long and powerful but pure and mineral. Excellent. Tasted in April 2019.” 92+ Stephan Reinhardt for the 2017, NOT THE 2022 OFFERED HERE.
