Description
After finding myself in unfamiliar waters with the singular dry wines, the prädikat wines had me in swooning fits of more familiar charm. This is plain delicious…..my note: “Delicious…..Pure harmony that is at once charming, mouthwatering, and weightless. I could drink this forever….”. The versatility and catchall utility of feinherb wines continues to fascinate me, something that this bottling captures with aplomb. “The 2022er Reiler Mullay-Hofberg Riesling Kabinett was made from fruit harvested in three different parcels from 40-60-year-old vines in the historic and very steep part of the vineyard at 82° Oechsle and was fermented down to off-dry levels of residual sugar (29 g/l). It is superbly complex, offering a ripe but very fine and clean range of aromas, initially with some residual elements from its spontaneous fermentation, followed by notes of vine peach, lavender, jasmine, almond cream, Conference pear, and fine spices. The wine starts out very creamy and soft on the palate, with fine notes of yellow fruit. It has more structure on the finish, where spicy notes bring freshness to the whole. This superb Kabinett shows great appeal and finesse. 2027-2042” 91 Mosel Fine Wines
