If there is one dry wine to focus on for particularly over achieving everyday purposes, this would be it. This wine has served as a calling card of the house’s new found excellence in dry, winning best in Germany awards in two out of the last four years. Hailing from the upper slope Vogelsang at the top of the Apotheke hillside, this wine is all about dancing delicacy, intense minerality meets creamy yellow fruits, the Apotheke’s special sense of class, and intensity without weight. This stuff is plain terrific to my taste!!!! For dry wine lovers, a 6pk/cs here is in order….This year, he bottled his two casks of this separately, and I’ve chosen the “better” of the two…..
“The 2022er Vogelsang Trittenheimer Apotheke, as it is referred to on the central part of the label (the reference to the Fass number is provided on the side of the label), is a bone-dry wine made with fruit picked in the similarly-named sector high up the central part of vineyard. It offers a beautifully playful and elegant nose made of white peach, green apple, whipped cream, fine notes of whipped cream, floral elements, and spices. The wine is beautifully playful (rather than bone-dry) on the palate and leaves one with a gorgeous sense of freshness and playfulness in the long finish. This is a great dry Riesling in the making. 2027-2037” 92 Mosel Fine Wines
