A rarity indeed, this is their burgundy-in-beaujolais-clothing best, dubbed the “unrepentants”. This is from a small parcel within the Javernières lieu-dit, from 100+ year old vines. I have never had a chance to taste this, as I was shot down in both the ’14 and ’15 vintages. This year, I got the early bird worm……get what you can, and thank me later. !!!
“Deep ruby. An expansive, smoke-tinged bouquet evokes fresh red/blue fruits and candied lavender, complemented by suggestions of peppery spices and a hint of cured meat. Densely packed, focused black raspberry, boysenberry and floral pastille flavors show excellent clarity. Conveys a suave blend of power and elegance, revealing no rough edges on the strikingly long, youthfully tannic finish.” 94 Josh Raynolds
