This is a bottling that is often overlooked in these cellars, because everyone always focuses on the Chambolle wines. In spite of that bias, this is plain outstanding, and if you want dynamic and complex Burgundy, you should remove your blinders……my note: “WOW, absolutely gorgeous Morey typicity, with purpler/darker fruit tone, an undeniable sense of deep matière (substance/stuffing), all gliding on a bead of persistent limestone minerality. This is wonderfully complete and precise….bravo Anne!” A little * awarded here. (Note that Allan gave this the highest score of all of the wines in the cellar…!)
“Soft notes of wood frame cool, pure and sauvage-inflected red and dark berry fruit and warm earth nuances. The dense, attractively rich and vibrant middleweight flavors possess fine detail on the balanced, precise and stunningly long finish that displays focused power. Moderate patience advised. (91-94)/2033+” Allen Meadows ————> thingy, meaning, “particularly outstanding for their respective appellations and especially merit your attention”.
