My note: “This is even finer than the Chatelots, airier, with a gorgeous sense of deep violet florals, dark red fruits, and spiciness. Just plain delicious…..” A little * awarded here.
“A fuller purple, showing an exuberant cherry raspberry fruit, with energy behind, and a little thread of acidity. From barrel, this stands head and shoulders above its neighbours. “Slightly riper and equally cool and airy aromas are comprised by notes of plum, violet and star anise that are also trimmed in discreet wood. As one would reasonably expect, there is more volume and richness to the opulent and generously proportioned flavors that possess a seductive texture while offering just a bit more depth and persistence on the balanced and firm finale. Lovely and a wine that should reward mid-term keeping.
