Description
To my taste, this is an absolute knockout classic. Its sense of multifaceted and classy as F aromatics, of cool close to the vest precision, white florals and quartz minerality are something that I could meditatively smell all day long…..this leads to a seamlessly enrobed sense of fruit intensity with zero sense of weight, with the balance between fruit/acidity/dry extract being about as ideal as anything my imagination could conjure. Again, to my taste, this steals the Spätlese show in the range…..I gave this two little ** stars, it is that good….get what you can justify, and thank me later….
“The 2021er Elisenberger Riesling Spätlese, as it is referred to on the consumer label, was made from fruit from 70-year-old vines harvested at 83° Oechsle and was fermented down to fruity-styled levels of residual sugar (70 g/l). It offers a beautifully refined and elegant nose of herbs, smoke, dried white flowers, pear, and prune. The wine has great presence but without weight and the precision is remarkable. The finish is playful with some fruity elements but also zest and purity. 2031-2051” 94 Mosel Fine Wines
