I did taste this one, a fruit cocktail nectar of the gods, with a long, slow, melt-in-your-mouth sense of seamless, silky tropical nectar. Dirk really likes its rhubarb tang (also mentioned by the Mosel Fine Wine guys…). A luscious delight of the senses….a little * awarded here.
“The 2021er Brauneberger Juffer-Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese *** -38-, as it is referred to on the consumer label, was made from botrytized fruit (70%) harvested at 110° Oechsle and was fermented down to fully sweet levels of residualsugar (120 g/l). It offers a captivating and layered nose of apricot jelly, pineapple, rhubarb, musk, minty herbs, sage, and apricot. The wine proves ripe and slightly thick on the palate, yet the ripe acidity brings a lively and more Auslese-styled side to the wine. The finish is spicy and already vibrating, even though the residual sugar is still present and in need of integration. This is a great Auslese LGK-styled Riesling. 2031-2051” 95+ Mosel Fine Wines
