Description

Fom the same source as it has always been, the Clos des Ormes has been a perennial star in the range, with a wow worthy sense of charm. The aromatics alone had me in fits, as the sense of floral intensity, pretty pretty infused red fruits and spice don’t lie about the flavors to come….With a sense power meets finesse is great (they’ve been extracting this one more in recent years rather than uniquely “infusing”, to get more of its guts into the wine), this is once again a no brainer. If you know the Marchand-Tawse Morey wines, you know what i’m talkin’ about…..get what you can justify. A little * awarded here.

“(from the 1er portion of the vineyard). An adroit application of wood frames agreeably fresh and pure essence of red berry fruit scents that are laced with hints of violet and herbal tea. There is good verve to the cool and restrained medium weight flavors that exude a fine trace of minerality on the linear and well-balanced finish that is firm enough to repay up to a decade of cellaring. (89-92)/2029+” Allen Meadows

“Three barrels, one new. 25% whole bunch. Medium purple in colour, with a fair weight of fruit on the nose, as yet not giving up much detail. Opens out very well, a bevy of red berry fruits with a little orange rind and dusted with coconut. Quiet complex and also persistent. Drink from 2026-2031. Tasted: November 2022.” 91-93 Jasper Morris “Four Star”
