As has happened on a few occasions, there is a “négociant” version of the Gevrey Champeaux in addition to their estate bottling. I thought that both were fantastic this year, and asked to include the négoce version as well. This is from a very very good source, a massale selection planting. Its sense of sappy dark red fruited intensity was quite striking, with a kiss of savory and excellent length. This is delicious by any name…. a little * awareded here, a single barrel made.
