Once again in the mix after being notably absent in 2019, they have always made outstanding Clos de Vougeot, and this year is no exception…..This is terrific….! A little * awarded here.

“Maison. From the Grand Maupertui sector, using destememd grapes in one new barrel. The new wood shows of course but there is easily enough fruit here to manage it. Good tension at the back, fine acidity, overall a well-managed example with longer term potential. Drink from 2028-2037. Tasted: November 2022.” 93-95 Jasper Morris “Four Star” wine

“Here too moderate wood is present on the cooler and earthier aromas of mostly red currant and floral wisps. The rich, vibrant and detailed broad-shouldered flavors possess good power and muscle on the lingering and markedly austere finish where the wood displayed by the nose reappears. This is a bit awkward at present, but it should better harmonize once it’s prepared for bottling. (91-93)/2033+” Allen Meadows

“Returning after an absence of a few years, the 2020 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is 50% whole bunch. Despite a touch of reduction, there is good concentration here. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, good matière here with a grippy but delineated finish. This will need several years in bottle but it should come good in the end.” 92-94 Neil Martin for the 2020, NOT THE 2021 OFFERED HERE.
