2021 Mallard Ladoix 1er Grechons

2021 Mallard Ladoix 1er Grechons

Michel is releasing 120 bottles of the 2021 Gréchons to me on this wave……This is an upper slope, limestone driven delight of a wine that truly drinks like a baby Corton Charlemagne. This stuff is plain awesome, and very much under the radar for white Burgundy lovers who prize salty/mineral tension allied to very tonic, medium-plus weight fruit flesh. I’ve trumpeted this stuff for years, as best exemplified by the 2017 which I bought every bottle he had left last year, and which many of you purchased, with repeat refill requests until the kitty was bare. A theme repeated: remarkable value and substance….get a 6pk/cs of this and thank me later!!!

“Cool, airy and pretty aromas include those There is excellent intensity to the overtly mineral-inflected medium weight flavors that possess good delineation on the youthfully austere, balanced and agreeably dry finale. This pretty effort could use better depth but that should reasonably develop if given a chance. Worth a look. 91/2028+” Allen Meadows ————–> “particularly outstanding for their respective appellations and especially merit your attention”

“The 2021 Ladoix Les Gréchons Blanc 1er Cru has a delineated, attractive nose, displaying orange blossom, yellow plum and light jasmine scents. The palate is well-balanced and quite tensile, with a touch of lemongrass and sour lemon. This is quite energetic on the finish and will be difficult to resist young!” 89-91 Neil Martin

“Serious and structured, the 2020 Ladoix 1er Cru Les Gréchons Blanc wafts from the glass with notions of citrus zest, toasted nuts, smoke and wet stones. Medium to full-bodied, chalky and layered, it’s incisive and tightly wound, concluding with a saline finish.” 91-93 William Kelley for the 2020, NOT THE 2021 OFFERED HERE
