I’m not going to pump this one up too much because it is going to be painful to allocate.  Trust me when I say that it is class in a glass by any measure…..a little * awarded here.
“The 2021 Ruchottes Chambertin Grand cru comes from two 0.08 hectare parcels at the bottom and the top of the climat (Magnien the only one with two plots).  I find the nose a litle reduced at the time of my visit, though there is clearly plenty of fruit coiled up, rather black than red.  The palate is medium-bodied with succulent tannins and a keen thread of acidiy.  It’s very well structured and endowed with veins of blueberry fruit and cassis towards the persistent finish that feels quite chalky.  Afford this fine Ruchottes five or six years in bottle.” 92-94 Neil Martin
“(from a .16 ha parcel). A very spicy and distinctly sauvage and truffle-inflected nose speaks of dark currant, plum and violet. The wonderfully sleek, even polished, middleweight flavors exude a bracing minerality on the almost painfully intense, driving and impressively long finale. This is both stylish and classy and very much built to reward extended cellaring. (91-94)/2033+” Allen Meadows
“A mid crimson ruby colour, with one of the most floral noses. Ruchottes is about delicacy more than intensity. Little alpine strawberry notes. This is fine-boned, a good rather than a great Ruchottes. Not quite the length. Drink from 2027-2033. Tasted: November 2022” 91-94 Jasper Morris
