Description
This is not yet bottled, but I tasted it from tank with Alex, and the shit is craaaazy good. Trust me when I say that, and get what you can justify. This is fairly immortal, elemental nectar that combines the slate power of the Jungheld and the full long afternoon sunshine of the Apotheke, with both power and charm, with outstanding finesse. This will be awarded with lots of points schmoints/prizes once he actually releases it…..trust me……He is letting me offer it in Mag and 3L as well, as it isn’t going to be bottled for 2-3 weeks. Good timing……For an example of Feinherb at its Grand cru, incredibly dynamic rockhead best, this is the SHTUFF……A big ol’ * awarded here.
“The 2021er Trittenheimer Apotheke Fels-Terrassen, as it is referred to on the central part of the label, is an off-dry wine (with 20-25 g/l of residual sugar) from the Jungheld part of the vineyard. It offers a very attractive and finely aromatic nose of candied grapefruit, orange blossom, tangerine, yellow peach, and minty herbs, and evolves in a few minutes to show even more complexity as herbal elements join the party, thyme, lemon grass, and white minerals. The wine starts off on the round side but quickly gains in focus as a most dynamic and animating acidity joins the party. The wine has enough dry extract to buffer off this racy side, and the balance is quite beautiful. The length is immense and the finish is almost dry tasting as plenty of spices and zest come into play. This is a great off-dry Riesling. 2024-2041” 94 MFW
