A first time entrant for Alex, he has fashioned a fruity styled Kabi from the Hofberg that is a bit bigger bodied and rounder than the prior two Kabis, with a kiss of tarragon/bay aromas adding a certain complexity to its juicy round fruits, all delivered in light footed fashion. This one should be an easy crowd pleaser…..yum yum.
“The 2021er Hofberg Riesling Kabinett, as it is referred to on the central part of the label, was made from fruit at 83° Oechsle on the main hill of the vineyard and was fermented to fruity-styled levels of residual sugar (42 g/l). It offers a superbly fresh, elegant, and floral nose of minty herbs, lemon, grapefruit, anise, pear, and smoke. The wine proves delicately light and refreshing on the juicy and finely fruity and elegantly zesty palate. The wine proves subtle and precise in the already off-dry tasting finish. This Kabinett is really nice in a light yet complex and fresh way. 2027-2046” 92 MFW
