Description
This year’s Clos du Roi is quite exuberantly red fruited and fine. Its sense of sappy sustain is undeniable, its cherry fruited flavor is delicious to my taste. Man, these are all really really good…..but I say that every year here…..
“A mentholated top note is present on the very ripe aromas of violet, roasted plum and anise hints. The mouthfeel is very Beaune as the vibrant, delicious and generously proportioned middle weight flavors are shaped by relatively fine-grained tannins on the lightly austere finale. The nose is a touch riper than I prefer but the palate impression is certainly attractive. 89/2026+” Allen Meadows for the 2020, NOT THE 2021 OFFERED HERE
