Description
This year’s Chorey is a return to the kind of digèste beauty and utter chuggable deliciousness that I simply adore. You will be never in your life find a Chorey les Beaune with as dense of a fruit core as this, with this kind of depth and complexity, delivered with a particularly elegant hand in 2021…..The aromatic intensity of both flowers and red fruits is intense!, then in the mouth, the same remarkably pure fruit tone is echoed, with the ripeness achieved by his farming practices offering refined tannin to a level of textural sophistication/suave pleasure that transcends the appellation. To my taste, this is a transcendent example that all but the most stubborn label licking snobs will clearly recognize as an incredible incredible value.. This is also likely the best entry ticket to see what JP’s farming practices/house style yield, as density, purity, and intensity like this are hallmarks of the house. A little * awarded here……get a 6pk/case and thank me later….!
“Last to be picked, with plenty of rot to sort out. A deeper purple than the Bourgogne. Marvellous density of deep raspberry fruit. Generous and very pure, with some black raspberry fruit, luscious more than precise but a wine it will be easy to fall in love with. Drink from 2024-2027. Tasted: November 2022.” 88-91 Jasper Morris “Four Star Wine”
