2021 Georges Glantenay Volnay villages Vieilles Vignes

“(from vines of at least 60 to as old as 92 years of age located in Les Buttes, La Gigotte, Les Combes and Petits Gamets). A more deeply colored robe is followed by a slightly riper array of plum, black cherry and a similar hint of crushed anise. There is better density to the precise, intense and richer medium weight flavors that possess a polished mouthfeel before terminating in a bitter cherry and lightly austere finish that offers better depth and persistence. “From their usual four plots. Already the colour is noticeably fuller, a fine ruby red, and there is a greater concentration of fruit on the nose. Plumps up the middle of the palate too in a very cheerful red berry fruit, without losing its Volnay character. A tannin or two in a fairly crisp finish. Drink from 2026-2030. Tasted: October 2022.” 89-91 Jasper Morris “Four Star” wine
