This is a cool one, from a half hectare monopole vineyard that is lumped together under the umbrella Fremiets appellation, but is a small Clos just off of the village. It is deeper in its fruit tone, and is plain gorgeous, a knockout most noteworthy for its quintessential Volnay floral/violet character……a little * awarded here.
“(a .52 ha monopole). This is aromatically quite similar to the Le Villages with just a bit more layering. The vibrant and again, strikingly delineated, medium-bodied flavors possess slightly better mid-palate stuffing along with good power on the refined, focused, stony and balanced finish. This youthfully austere effort is a classic Volnay of grace and lace.
