The Bollenberg is always the Chablis lover’s Riesling in Agathe’s range. It comes from 72 year old vines in the SW facing portion of the Bollenberg, in soils that are predominantly calcaire with some sand. Aromatically, it shyly presents very pure and high toned aromatics of ripe citrus (lime) and mineral salts; the aroma alone diplays that it is a rockhead dry wine. Then in the mouth, its acidity is seamlessly enrobed, with a sense of natural low yield driven concentration that is startlingly intense; its sense of linear calcaire minerality renders the wine positively weightless and mouthwatering, with long sustaining white florals, and citrus. MAN, what class!!!……a little * awarded here.
