Hailing as well from the Bollenberg, this is a vinyeard coplanted to 6 different varieties (5% muscat, 15% pinot-gris, 20% riesling, 20% sylvaner, 20% gewurztraminer et 20% pinot-blanc) that ripen in stride with one another in spite of their genetic differences. This wine is always a charmer, but this year’s may be the most so in my several years of working with her wines. It is positively swoon worthy in its multifaceted charms aromatically, something that is enhanced by the outrageously low yields of 2021, like some kind of a reduced essence; it had me oohing and aahing with every whiff. This multifaceted and crazy intense flavor profile carries over to the mouth, where it offers wonderfully crystalline and precise flavors, with a sense of freshness that is a pure delight; this is again slightly drier than it often is, which undoubtedly contributes to its sense of weightless intensity. Without an ounce of doubt, this is a glorious example of inimitable Alsatian charm that will steal the heart of anyone who drinks wine of any color or style…..Get a 6pk or a case, and thank me later……a little * awarded here.
