This is a bottling from the crazy steeps of the Oligsberg, a fairly little known cooler site that can make for some riveting examples of a more filigree/cool/implosive personality. Stefan had originally sold the entire cask of this small production wine to a single German retailer, but he is letting me grab a few cases. I expect very good things…..Piggott’s review ain’t shabby:“This Mosel is not only wonderfully light, yet concentrated and racy, it also has complex herbal and savory character, such that I have never encountered in a naturally sweet Spätlese before. Firmly structured and still very youthful, this really needs some time to relax. So much potential here! Drinkable now, but best from 2023.” 94 Stuart Piggott
