Chaponnières is a very serious Pommard 1er cru that I know best from the benchmark example made by Anne Parent, which now costs double the price of this……again, bravo Vincent on the timing and execution as this one is a terrific example as well……
“(vinified with 50% whole clusters). Extremely subtle touches of oak and menthol surround the ripe but cool and markedly floral aromas of various dark berries and plenty of earth. The middle weight flavors aren’t as concentrated though they’re notably finer and more powerful with a lovely palate impression that is enhanced by the chiseled if austere and persistent finale. This is also really quite good though Chaponnières is almost always a terroir that needs at least a few years of restraint and it should reward 12+. 92/2032+” Allen Meadows ————> “particularly outstanding for their respective appellations and especially merit your attention”.
