Description
This is Thierry’s best Bourgogne level wine (he also makes a step below this called Pinot Noirien that is perfectly tasty, quite fine and suave, a very gourmand option. Please inquire if interested…), clearly heads and shoulders above the entry level one. This is a very unique and special parcel, once featured on the Santiago de Compostela hermitage route, and once classified as a villages level parcel. This has all of the essential Pommard fruit groups well represented: moderately dark blue/light black fruits, medium plus concentration, light tannic grip, with an exceptional level of dry extract/mineral mass for a Bourgogne level wine. As it always does, this punches well above its price point, and is an archetypal example of a Bourgogne that delivers quintessential single village/single parcel character at a pittance of a price. This one will stay on that all-star Bourgogne rouge list for eternity, I think…..
