2019 Nathalie Falmet Brut Nature

Here are a few reviews of this particular disgorgement:

“(100% pinot noir; disgorged February 11, 2013; no dosage): Light yellow. Pear, melon and honeysuckle aromas are complicated by notes of blood orange and chalky minerals. Smooth and expansive on the palate, offering fresh orchard and red fruit flavors and an exotic touch of jasmine. Finishes on a refreshingly bitter note of pear skin, with strong mineral cut and lift. ” 92 points Josh Raynolds

“Falmet’s NV Brut Nature Disg. 2/2013 is one of those truth-in-terroir experiences because, while it’s 100% Pinot Noir, the resemblance to Chablis from Kimmeridgian is hard to put out of your mind once you get the initial whiff of sea breeze, chalk dust, and fusil oils, along with which come intimations of Normandy cider, rhubarb, and red raspberry that go on to form the basis for a vivacious, snappy palate. Subtle hints of mushroom by no means awkwardly creep into this performance as the wine takes on air, while chew of fruit skin, piquancy of pip, and bite of musky rose radish enhance the invigoration of a cheek-pinching, mouthwatering finish. Despite no dosage, this isn’t too austere. It should be worth returning to over the next couple of years.” 91 points David Schildknecht
