Description
“The 2019er Reiler Mullay-Hofberg Riesling Sekt Brut, whose initial juice was fermented and aged for a year in Fuder, before being bottled and aged for 27 months and was then disgorged with a dosage of 8 g/l on December 1, 2022 (the disgorgement date is provided on the back label). Golden in color, the first nose is very impressive and even powerful, but it quickly gains in finesse with lots of fine spices, freshly cut herbs, lime, thyme, anise, flint, toasted bread, bacon, and plum. The wine shows more richness and opulence on the palate, with lots of ripe yellow fruits and almond cream. The bubbles are still quite present. There is a certain smoothness with a hint of honey, but the finish is superbly long and intense, with fine spices and a return of freshness. This is a great Sekt, showing the more opulent side of the 2019 vintage, and which will do wonders with food (think main course rather than a light starter). 2024-2034” 93 Mosel Fine Wines
