Description
This is a most promising villages level wine from the single lieu dit les Belles Filles (the Pretty Girls). Along the western flank of the village, in the shadow of the looming hill of Corton to its SE, and fully in the little valley aka combe that regularly brings fresh cool air, this sounds like an outstanding combination of richness meets mineral intensity, in an open knit and accessible style. The ’19s have even more energy/tension than the ’19s, I am told, so Allan’s note below for the 2018 should serve as a useful reference point……
“Smoky aromas include those of citrus, apple, and a hint of matchstick. There is again very good intensity to the delicious and appealingly delineated flavors that exude evident minerality on the clean and notably drier finale. This forward effort should drink well on the early side. 88/2022+” Allan Meadows for the 2018, NOT THE 2019 OFFERED HERE
