Description
The red wine counterpoint in la Ronce, a blue and white marne dominant site (marne is another word for decomposed rock combined with clay) that Guilhem continues to believe will become one of the signature terroirs of the estate. It is quite rich in a blacker fruited vein, with a solid tannic structure. He thinks that he will continue to hold back bottles of this for later release, as the wine is always better served by a few years in bottle which allow for even more of the terroir to shine once the baby fat sheds a bit and the fruit and structure harmonize…..it seems that this 2019 was recently covered in the RVF (Revue du Vin de France) with a superlative review:
“Subtle fruit, infused matter, delicate but profound, which gains in width and offers superb dimensions with aeration. With its lovely tannins, this spicy red, sapid and and wild, delights us.” 95 points RVF
