Description
The Chambolle Musigny holdings come from their Grandmother’s side of the family, Georgette Midan, who married their Grandfather Georges Glantenay. The vines were leased out en fermage until 2003. From a .45 hectare parcel of 45-65 year old vines from three lieu dits : les Creux Baissants (a cooler NE facing site), les Condemennes (a well placed site just below 1er cru les Charmes), and les Fremières (just below 1er cru les Baudes/les Noirots). Guillaume’s sensibility for freshness, prettiness, and purity seem quite well suited for bringing out the airy, cool, and precise qualities of great Chambolle……this is one to get a 6pk/case of if Chambolle is something that tickles your heart strings……
“A ripe, elegant and pure nose is composed of notes of attractively layered black cherry, violet and a hint of lavender. The racy, intense and again beautifully textured and well-detailed flavors exude evident minerality on the delicious and sneaky long finale. A quality Chambolle villages that should drink well relatively early on. (89-91)/2024+” Allan Meadows ———-> “particularly outstanding for their respective appellations and especially merit your attention”
“From 0.35ha in 4 plots across three lieux-dits, Fremières, Condemennes, and Les Creux Baissants which is a cooler site, useful these days. Dense deep purple black, sweet succulent dark fruit with good acidity, slightly firm tannins, but holds together quite well. There is a good intensity of dark fruit.” 88-91 Jasper Morris
