My note: I didn’t get to taste this, and it isn’t because it is not good….quite the contrary. This is regularly one of the greatest value wines in Burgundy for its sense of serious calcaire stuffing, so much so that the Barraud’s regularly have far greater demand than wine to sell. From vines grown on the mother rock above the Pouilly Fuissé appellation limit, just above their parcel of PF la Roche. Based on how awesome the Pouilly Fuissé la Roche is, I expect this one to fall right in line as a strength of the vintage, as always. When I asked Daniel how this years’ MV la Roche turned out, he just smiled and said, “Oui oui, c’est très bon”……(my note on the 2017)

“”(this vineyard abuts the Pouilly-Fuissé vineyard of La Roche). A discreet but not imperceptible application of wood frames the ripe, fresh and again mildly exotic aromas of white flower, passion fruit and spice. There is a lovely sense of vibrancy to the delicious, caressing and lightly stony medium weight flavors that also culminate in a fresh, balanced and lingering finish. Good stuff for its level and worth considering. (88-90)/2022+” Allan Meadows ———–> “particularly outstanding for their respective appellations and especially merit your attention”
