As I mentioned in the intro, I savored these wines over a few hours and came away beyond impressed by the sense of delicacy and prettiness which I was not exepecting, whatsoever. This is a breakthrough vintage for him, so fans of great world class Pinot Noir, particularly in a pretty, delicate, and spicy vein, take heed!!! The value quotient is nuts for such quality (notice this theme repeating itself yet?). All of the ’18s have 50% whole cluster inclusion, and alcohols at 13.5% or below.
From the fine, silty soils of the Paulinshofberg, this one stunned me to attention, its sense of prettiness and weightlessness completely different than I was expecting. This is planted all to clone 777, a burgundy selection. My note: “Weightless, all on perfume and pretty red fruit aromas/flavors. This is impeccably balanced, seamless, pale, and elegant. What charming beauty!”. A little * awarded here.
