Description
From a small-is-beautiful .19 hectare parcel of 60+ year old vines, this reference point quality example of the little seen Combes Dessus was first vinified separately in 2015 thanks to the new small tanks that were added to the winery after its full renovation in 2013. This sits right at the border of Pommard/Volnay, contiguous with Volnay 1er les Brouillards.
“Here too a mentholated top note is present on the ripe aromas of both red and dark currant that are well-suffused by warm earth nuances. The generously proportioned medium weight flavors possess good punch as well as a seductive texture on the lightly mineral-inflected finish that displays just a bit more verve. (90-92)/2028+” Allan Meadows ———-> “particularly outstanding for their respective appellations and especially merit your attention”
