Description

This is a fun one, the first time that this was bottled, from a wee .1 hectare parcel of 60+ year old vines. This downstairs neighbor to Pommard 1er cru les Freimers is one that is rarely seen….it wasn’t produced in 2019, for example, as the yields were just too tiny to vinify separately. This sounds delicious based on Allan’s note…….Airy, cool, energetic, and mineral, with excellent depth and persistence sounds damn good to me……man oh man, do I love the details….. ;0
“(2018 will be the first vintage for this wine; from a .10 ha parcel). A more restrained, airier and cooler red berry fruit nose gives way to more energetic if less rich middle weight flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the mildly austere finish that offers excellent depth and persistence. This is a notably promising first effort. (90-93)/2028+” Allan Meadows ———-> “particularly outstanding for their respective appellations and especially merit your attention”
