$45.00

The Longeroies exhibits an ever darker fruit profile both aromatically and in the mouth, the minuscule yields lending an even more exaggerated sense of concentration/ripeness. It has good energy to accompany such concentration, with light but fine tannic grip lending shape. This should age very well on its sense of concentration meets structure meets balance. If you favor blacker vs redder fruits, as well as greater overall body and ripeness, this is your stop.
“Like the Marie Ragonneau the nose is more deeply pitched with its blend of both red and dark pinot fruit, plum, spice and warm earth scents. The vibrant and well-detailed medium weight flavors are also notably mineral-driven while exhibiting excellent length on the succulent yet entirely serious finish. Again, while this could reasonably be enjoyed young it would be better to allow it at least a few years of cellaring first. (89-92)/2022+” – Allan Meadows ———-> thingy meaning, “particularly outstanding for their respective appellations and especially merit your attention”.

“Lavish and dramatic, the 2016 Marsannay Les Longeroies bursts with aromas of ripe cherries, raspberries, licorice and dried flowers. On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied, seductively satiny and enveloping, with succulent acids, a concentrated core of fruit and melting tannins, concluding with a long finish. It’s already hard to resist.” 91 William Kelley

Description

“Aromas of cherries, candied peel, coniferous forest floor and spices introduce the 2018 Marsannay Les Longeroies, a medium to full-bodied, velvety and concentrated wine that’s lively and enveloping, concluding with a long and expansive finish.” 91-93 William Kelley

“This too is quite ripe but there is slightly better freshness to the more floral-inflected red currant and wild berry aromas. The supple, round and quite suave medium-bodied flavors exude a subtle minerality on the delicious, sappy and lingering finish that also firms up noticeably. A wine that could be enjoyed after only 5 years or so of age or held to good effect for 10 to 12 years. (89-92)/2028+” Allen Meadows
