Wow….this has a remarkably intense and concentrated aromatic range of gorgeous red fruits and spice; I could smell this all day. In the mouth it proves to be a textbook example of power without weight, proving positively filigree, with long sustain of red fruits, florals, and minerality. To my taste, this is class in a glass, and even better than Allan’s tank sample review below would lead one to believe….a little * awarded here.
“Wafting from the glass with lovely aromas of cherries, wild berries, peonies and orange rind, the 2018 Marsannay Clos du Roy is medium to full-bodied, rich and enveloping, with a fleshy core of fruit, succulent acids and good depth at the core. A touch richer and headier than the 2017 rendition, this is a gourmand Marsannay from Audoin.” 90-92 William Kelley
