From Mazoyères, vines planted in 1980, a small .19 hectare parcel. WOW. Incredibly deep and sappy, intensely violet, with plenty of drive and focus for all of its richness. My first instinct note was “!”, and then “F’in great!!”. Gorgeous, like deep savory violet velvet sauce…..
“from a .18 ha parcel in Mazoyères; 30% whole clusters). Moderate wood influence sets off the much more sauvage and restrained aromas of forest floor, earth and wild red berry fruit. Once again the medium-bodied flavors possess a lovely mid-palate texture that contrasts with the firm, serious, powerful, bold and mildly rustic finale that offers very fine depth and persistence. Patience again strongly recommended. (91-93)/2033+” Allan Meadows
