This is the first Noirots that I have been able to bring in, another northern sector 1er cru under the southern portion of les Bonnes Mares. Again, I only wish I got more to spread around.
“Notes of red cherries, dried flowers and blood orange introduce the 2017 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Noirots, a medium to full-bodied wine that’s broad and velvety, with a bright line of lively acidity and a more powdery tannic grain thanks to some stem inclusion. The Sigauts own three parcels that total half a hectare in this premier cru; two parcels are characterized by rich red soil and the third is much richer in limestone.” 92 William Kelley
“Here the nose is markedly riper though not quite as fresh with its liqueur-like notes of plum, mocha and soft wood nuances. The equally ripe flavors are big, rich and opulent with mouth coating sap that confers a velvety texture on to the long if ever-so-slightly warm finish. This is a big Chambolle with good power though limited finesse. (89-91)/2025+” Allan Meadows
