This is an upper slope, limestone driven delight of a wine that truly drinks like a baby Corton Charlemagne. This stuff is plain awesome, and very much under the radar for white Burgundy lovers who prize salty/mineral tension allied to very tonic, medium weight fruit flesh.

I am offering the 2017 of this, which Michel has lingering availability of….it is, to my taste, the best example he has made from this baby Corton Charlemagne, almost a platonic ideal of an example; Jean-Pierre Guyon, his wife Isabelle, and I drank a bottle when out to dinner on my recent trip, and it only reinforced to me just how damn good it is. I prefer the 2017s sense of tension and drive to the richer 2018 iteration. This is an upper slope, limestone driven delight of a wine that truly drinks like a baby Corton Charlemagne. This stuff is plain awesome, and very much under the radar for white Burgundy lovers who prize salty/mineral tension allied to very tonic, medium weight fruit flesh.

“A cooler and airier nose features notes of matchstick, white orchard fruit, iodine and a whiff of smoke. The more elegant and more mineral-driven middle weight flavors possess excellent punch on the clean, chiseled and agreeably dry finish. Lovely. (90-92)/2023+” Allen Meadows ———-> “particularly outstanding for their respective appellations and especially merit your attention”. FOR THIS 2017.
