Description
Aurélien describes this one as his best expression of pure Pinot Noir, from sandy, fine silty topsoil 80cm deep on top of seriously limestone rich subsoil. This gives it at once a sense of finesse and suavity with a linear even rising calcaire finish. This is sourced from a relative some 30km away in the Montagne de Reims sector, and is long barrel aged some 18 months. This is once again plain gorgeous in its raspberry/little red fruited aromas and flavor, that is then driven by an intensely limestone mineral core in tonic, mouthwatering fashion. This is classy as heck…..again, a little * awarded here.
“The 2017 Longues Voyes is the most impressive and complete of the three single lieu dit wines from Laherte this year. Silky and aromatic, with lovely mid-weight presence, the Longues Voyes is all class. Sweet red cherry, red plum, dried flowers and chamomile all grace with exquisite, beautifully polishes blanc de noirs. The 2017 is a real success, especially for the vintage. Dosage is 4 grams per liter.” 94 points
