Starting a few years ago, Arnaud had begun to produce a rosé from Domaine Sirugue’s holdings on the other side of the route nationale below the Clos de Vougeot/Flagey-Echezeaux. The land is planted in passetoutgrains fashion with a blend of both Gamay and Pinot Noir. After I tasted the ’15 and ’16 versions under the Sirugue label, both of which proved to be snappy and fresh, with bright perfume and a kiss of savory, I was prepared to offer it alongside the rest of the Sirugue wines. However, Arnaud and Sophie have taken the rosé project under their own estate banner……Particularly when considered for the $, this is an outstanding buy for your summertime sippin’ pleasure…..
