Another value hound’s delight from the southern reaches of the Lyon suburbs, this is a silky and juicy Gamay Noir no-brainer every day house wine, with great focus and length. The 2017 is already sold out at the winery, but they saved me 48 bottles as I have regularly sold the wine for a few years now. If you’ve had it, you’re a fan. From Josh’s review, this promises to continue the hit parade……ahem ahem, value hounds…..
“Lurid magenta. Highly perfumed, mineral-accented aromas of red berry liqueur, Asian spices and potpourri. Sweet and incisive on the palate, offering juicy raspberry and blueberry flavors and suggestions of candied flowers and star anise. Shows real energy and spicy lift on a long, penetrating finish that features a sexy floral note and discreet tannins.” 90-92 Josh Raynolds
This 100% Gamay noir, 30 some year old vines on glacial deposits (large galets) over granite and sand with south eastern exposition, fermented and aged in tank. Juicy and freshy fresh!!
I have had dozens of people report back how impressed they are with this little wine, 100% Gamay Noir that drinks with wonderful poise and precision, as well as gourmandise. This is an exceptional every day bistro value….
