From the Liassic clay dominant soils of the En Barbaron parcel, with some whole cluster, vified and aged without sulfur with only a smidgen at bottling, with only 5 barrels made in ’16 (125 cases). This wine is, once again, plain stunning, toute en finesse, spices, medium dark red fruits, and delicacy. It is even finer than the ’15, and the best Pinot Noir I have tasted from Stéphane. He is saving a few cases for me, not sure how much he can spare, but to the sqeaky wheel goes the grease!!…..I couldn’t ask for a nobler example of Jura Pinot Noir than this, as it is pure class in a glass, in the vein of 2016s moderation and low yields driven concentration at its best. Get some, and thank me later…..a little * awarded here. My note: “Holy sh!t! This is soooooo good. Aromatically crazy complex interplay of red fruits and whole cluster spice, that leads to a gorgeous palate presence of similar red fruited purity, silken texture, length, harmony, spice…..plain outstanding!! Bravo!!”.
