We now climb the ladder literally and figuratively onto the decomposed granitic hillside parcels in Arras-Sur-Rhône, Sarras, and Vion. This is vinified in stainless steel with 20% stems for three weeks before passing both its malolactic and aging in 4 year old burgundy size barrels. The house hallmark gorgeously layered fruit has even more grip and depth, with lovely light minerality peeking through. This could easily serve as an exhibit A for Northern Rhone Syrah in its blend of dark berry fruit, intense florals, savory undertones, and light tannic grip. That one can achieve such full flavor intensity from just 13% alcohol is one of the unique and refreshing qualities that I adore….
