I adore this wines sense of precision and upper slope, power-without-weight sensibility. A weightless sense of red fruits and spice animated with a mouthwatering sense of its mineral core. This plain terrific if such a wine style sounds appealing to you……
“The 2016 Chorey-lès-Beaune les Beaumonts offers clean pure red cherry and cranberry scents on the nose, with the oak very well assimilated. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, not a powerful Chorey-les-Beaune but quite refined and almost “airy” in style. I like the acidity here, a wine where less is more.” 88-90 Neil Martin
“Here too the nose is exuberantly fresh and bright though with a slightly different fruit profile as it mixes in some dark cherry and briar along with plenty of earth and underbrush elements. There is both good volume and richness to the caressing flavors that flash only limited rusticity on the balanced and sneaky long finish. This would make a great choice for an all-around, and age-worthy, house red. 88/2021+” 88 Allan Meadows —————-> “particularly outstanding for their respective appellations and especially merit your attention”.
