“A timidly spicy, airy and cool nose features notes of plum, cassis, violets and rose petal. The delicious and admirably pure middle weight flavors display excellent delineation on the refined, reserved and moderately austere but impressively persistent finish that offers outstanding depth and persistence. This is a first-rate example of the vineyard and one that should age effortlessly. (92-94)/2028+” Allan Meadows

“(13% alcohol; one-third of these vines were replanted in 1987 while the rest date back to the 1960s; 30% vendange entier): Bright, full red. Aromas of raspberry, redcurrant, red plum, earth and crushed stone convey a subtle coolness. Then supple, suave and dry, showing modest penetration but attractive inner-mouth floral lift. This wine was tasting well months before it was bottled in December, noted Mugneret. Eighty percent of the fruit from the first buds was destroyed by the frost, but production was ultimately down by only 20% as Mugneret was able to use the second-generation grapes.” 91 Steve Tanzer
