The Beaujeu is usually denser in its fruit profile, with the core of minerality buried deeper within. It is a long ager that, in time, unfolds gloriously. Before he made the Comtesse, this was his flagship, of sorts. I have had 20+ year old examples on several occasions that have redefined what I thought possible for great Chavignol….this should be a great long distance runner that continues its long tradition as a reference point example of the site.
