We finished out tasting with this magical embryonic nectar, a shimmering and crystal clean example of Beerenauslese with the impossibly rare quality of nearly zero botrytis, made from clean shriveled concentrated berries. This crystalline quality allows the filigree detail and that is synonymous with the Wehlener Sonnenuhr to shine even at this embryonic phase with a transparency that is remarkable. Again, a time capsule example for the ages, undoubtedly. A nectar of the gods!! A star * given here. Tech stats: 6% alcohol, 11g/L acidity, 202g/L RS.
“Harvested at 160° Oechsle, this wine is still marked by post-bottle reduction yet offers a gorgeous nose of apricot, fresh pineapple, herbs and fruits. It is gorgeously well balanced on the palate and leaves a superb feel of honey, apricot, yellow peach and brown sugar in the creamy and zesty finish. This is a gorgeous vibrant expression of BA in the making. 2025-2050” 94 points Mosel Fine WIne
