Description
The red wine from les Renardières features 50% whole cluster use, and a continued evolution towards larger neutral demi muids rather than smaller burgundy barrels. It seems that Philippe nailed the ’15 and ’14 vintages, both of which are fantastic red wine vintages in the Loire, achieving wonderfully moderate levels of alcohol and full phenolic ripeness. If any of you tried some of the Renardières rouge that I brought in last time, you know what I mean. This stuff is seriously delicious, between all things rose florals, light whole cluster spice, succulent dark red fruits, and limestone mineral complexity. On the world stage, a plain bonkers value……
