Hailing from the town limits of Menetou Salon itself, this is the inaugural bottling of this parcellary Sauvignon blanc, made from two hectares in the Clos des Chandelliers, a famous S/SE facing plot dating back to 1618 in association with Saint-Sulpice de Bourges abbey/monastery. Its soil composition is comprised of a blended limestone/clay topsoil, with pure kimmeridgian limestone subsoil. This is a most exciting development to me, his continued expansion of the single vineyard vision. From even more limestone rich soils, aged in large foudres, I can only imagine how salty tasty this puppy will be…..Sancerre lovers, this is you!!!
